“Morgan’s genius is revealed in every session of her SIFT classes. Her explanations, juxtapositions & invitations for movement allow me to go beyond the physical, to allow my movement to originate from the invisible deep, inviting me to belong in a world that is so solid yet so free. This is a dance class like no other you have taken before - SIFT dance is a conduit for the release of invisible stuck, hurt and constricting patterns. All of this is possible because Morgan creates a space of safety, acceptance and respect coupled with an invitation for us to challenge our perception of dance.”

About Sift

There is an intrinsic, pre-conceptual movement of life in our bodies that is always flowering towards regeneration and belonging.

This original current shepherds us into presence, towards our natural gifts and purpose, and into relationship with the deeper ecology of our being.

We dance to restore this original current; as an act of cellular, therapeutic, and artistic communication.

Sift stands for Somatic Intelligence for Trauma and the practice is the emergent articulation of my experience as a dance artist and choreographer working in ecological and healing-centered pedagogy and practice.

It is a poetic approach to somatic potential and phenomena that fosters wellbeing and connection through guided improvisation; a catalyst for transformation and resilience. A performance of self-care and healing.

The practice unfolds as a journey through seven elements. Each is encountered through archetypes, mystical anatomies, sensory inquiry, and improvisational prompts, while drawing upon extensive research in somatic approaches to trauma recovery.

Sift invites us into the body’s ancient languages—the preverbal, the rhythmic, the trance-like, the imaginal—to re-pattern our wounds and awaken the mirrors between us.

I teach weekly Sift dance classes in my hometown, offer an online studio where you can practice with me from home, and share the work internationally as a guest artist and educator.

With Love & Gratitude,

Morgan
