Draughts of Space is a Contemporary Ballet work commissioned by Vail Friends of Dance for the Vail Youth Ballet Company. It is set to a choral work inspired by the poem Song of the Open Road by Walt Whitman. A piece about space; I wanted the dancers to feel enough latitude between movements to breathe and flow. The dancers move as individuals within an organism; representing the beauty and impermanence of each sentient being and the task of bringing our authentic gifts to this short and precious life.
