Youth Dance Education
Morgan began her formal dance training at age four, studying ballet, modern, jazz, and tap at Parker Dance Academy under the direction of Kim Kinnear, Julie Curley, Beverly Pinkerton, and Nicolle Ament. She later earned her BFA in Acting Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts and received a scholarship to continue her dance studies at Hubbard Street. During this time, Morgan fostered a deeper appreciation for neoclassical ballet and contemporary dance, transitioning into an interdisciplinary performance career centered on choreographing experimental, community-oriented work.
Morgan began teaching at Vail Valley Academy of Dance in 2013 under the mentorship of Anne Powell who asked her to develop what is now a thriving multi-level contemporary dance program. Morgan has contributed numerous choreographic works to Vail Youth Ballet Company and Vail Valley Academy of Dance students and has built bridges between studio and community through collaborations with organizations such as TedX Youth Vail and Colorado's Art in Public Places. In 2023 Morgan graduated with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art & Regenerative Culture from University of New Mexico and shared her work Movements of Mind featuring Vail Valley Academy of Dance students at her thesis exhibition at The Santa Fe Art Institute.
Morgan has studied extensively as a teacher; training in diverse pedagogies ranging from classical ballet education to contemporary and eastern dance practices. She is very proud of the young dancers she has had the honor of working with; many of whom have been accepted into some of the most competitive conservatories, colleges, and summer dance programs in the United States; including but not limited to Lines Ballet San Fransisco, Hubbard Street, American Ballet Theater, Joffrey, Colorado Ballet, Los Angelas Ballet, NYU Tisch, Cincinnati Ballet, Butler University, Bolshoi, and Nutmeg Conservatory.
