Aarunya Yoga School

Aarunya is a given name which translates from Sanskrit to English as The Dawn. Each day, we awaken to possibilities. Through an ecological approach to practice; we are devoted to exploring the ways in which Yogic arts repair the individual, global, and cosmic moving body. Through the ritual of self-inquiry we kindle the light of transformation. We believe that in order to contribute to the global healing so critical at this time, we have to begin by watering seeds of understanding in ourselves. Morgan Kulas offers weekly classes, educational immersions for dedicated practitioners, as well as teacher training mentorships to select candidates by invitation only. She is an E-RYT 500 & Continuing Education provider with Yoga Alliance as well as a registered Yoga school and Level 3 Teacher with American Yoga Council.

Aarunya Yoga is rooted in a Deep Ecology worldview, weaving Zen, Sāṃkhya Yoga, and Tantra into a living, embodied practice. Our pedagogy centers trauma resilience and recovery, approached through an ecological understanding of the interconnection of life.

Aarunya Yoga Pulse

Aarunya Yoga Pulse is a fluid, dance-inflected vinyasa practice guided by rhythm, breath, and sensation. Movement unfolds as a continuous current—graceful, expressive, and grounded—inviting students to explore flow as an embodied conversation and transitions as part of the practice. Rooted in the Aarunya Yoga pedagogy, this class centers a Deep Ecology worldview, honoring the body as an intelligent, relational ecosystem.

Aarunya Yoga Therapy

Aarunya Yoga Therapy is a restorative practice rooted in Iyengar Yoga, myofascial release techniques, and the therapeutic use of hot stones. This practice focuses on the muscle tissue as a portal to nervous system regulation and trauma resilience. Movement is minimal and deliberate, emphasizing listening over effort. Postures are supported by props and sustained holds, allowing time for fascia to soften and reorganize.

Aarunya Yoga Cocoon

Aarunya Yoga Cocoon utilizes an aerial sling alongside other experimental props; inviting students to shape, dissolve, and explore asana through suspension, gravity, and breath. The practice treats objects as partners that offer feedback, containment, and possibility. Movement emerges through experimentation and students are encouraged to move slowly, make choices, and listen closely to how form arises and changes in relationship with support.

Aarunya Yoga Witness

Aarunya Yoga Witness is a practice of presence and attunement, an invitation to inhabit the subtle currents of body, breath, and mind. In this quiet, relational space, meditation unfolds as an ecological dialogue—between self and the more-than-human world, between sensation and awareness, between movement and stillness. Here, silence is fertile, stillness is alive, and presence becomes a way of belonging.

Aarunya Yoga Daoyin

Aarunya Yoga Daoyin is a slow, listening practice rooted in Daoist inner cultivation and contemporary somatic wisdom. Drawing from Yin Yoga, neigong, and qigong, this practice invites the body to soften, circulate, and reorganize from the inside out—guided by breath, sensation, and subtle energetic flow. Through long-held shapes, gentle spirals, and simple standing forms, we attune to the living intelligence of the tissues, organs, and fluids. Rather than striving toward form, we practice yielding—allowing gravity, time, and awareness to do the work.

Aarunya Yoga Sift

Sift stands for Somatic Intelligence for Trauma, and the practice is the culmination and articulation of my process as a dance artist and choreographer working in ecological and healing-centered pedagogy and praxis. It is a poetic approach to somatic potential and phenomena that fosters wellbeing and connection through guided dance improvisation. I teach Sift as a catalyst for transformation and collective resilience. All bodies and limitations are welcome in this class. That said, an open heart and mind is required.
